How it works

How it works: three steps, no appointment.

1

Walk in with the garment

Bring the piece and the shoes you’ll wear with it. Second floor of 811 E. Las Olas Blvd, behind El Camino Restaurant, under the pink banner. No appointment for alterations.

2

We pin it on you

You try it on. Zohreh or Janny pins the fit and tells you the price before you leave.

3

Pick it up on the date

You get a pickup date when you leave. Wedding gowns and custom pieces take more than one fitting; call ahead for those.

Our story

A Fort Lauderdale tradition since 1960.

For more than six decades, Stychin Tyme has been part of Fort Lauderdale’s tailoring tradition.

What began as a local tailoring business has grown into a trusted destination for alterations, formalwear, wedding gowns and custom tailoring, while keeping the most important tradition of all: the art of the perfect fit.

Today the atelier is run by Zohreh Dehnavi and Janny, upstairs at 811 E. Las Olas Blvd. Everything is done on the premises, by the people you meet at the door. And if you have a favorite piece that’s far too worn out to be replaced, bring it in: we take it apart, draft the pattern from the pieces, and make it again in fabric you choose.

Good to know

Questions people ask before they come up the stairs.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in during opening hours with the garment. For a wedding dress or a gown, call ahead so we can plan the fittings.

How long will it take?

It depends on the work. We give you the pickup date when we pin the garment, and we say so up front if it needs more than one fitting.

What should I bring?

The garment, and the shoes you’ll wear with it. A hem is only right when it’s measured at the height you’ll actually stand at.

Do you make clothes from scratch?

Yes, for women: custom designs, gowns and patterns to your own measurements, from the first sketch to the final fitting. For men we do alterations only: hems, waists, sleeves, tapering, zippers.

How much do alterations cost?

We quote every piece in person when we pin it, so the price fits the garment and the work. Hems and waists are the simplest jobs; a wedding dress is quoted per gown after the first fitting. No charge to come up and ask.

How long have you been around?

Since 1960. Stychin Tyme has been part of Fort Lauderdale’s tailoring tradition for more than six decades, and the work is still done on the premises.

Where exactly are you?

811 E. Las Olas Blvd, second floor, suite 8, behind El Camino Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. It’s the light blue building with the pink Stychin Tyme banner on the balcony; take the stairs up.
